Dr. Carl Frankel spotted a sassafras tree along the Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails trail as he led a scavenger hunt Saturday for Hazleton One Community Center youths.
“You can eat this if you’re out in the woods and you’re starving to death,” he explained, as he plucked a glove-shaped leaf from the tree and nibbled on it.

The Hazleton Integration Project hosted the 2nd annual Community Science Night on Thursday, May 18, 2017. The event showcased the STEM projects that have been completed throughout the academic year by the students and teachers in the Hazleton One Afterschool Scholars Program.
On April 7 we had the Charitable drive for Peru, in conjunction with the Peruvian Community. We are so thankful with the community for the contributions. We hope the clothes, food, and other items arrived are helpful to the country itself.
