1111 Voices and us (Hazleton One Community Center) worked together to create two day appreciative artful events for August 4 and 5. Each day consisted of different activities that where happening around Hazleton were people were allowed to participate and enjoy themselves!
One of the events was this Flash Mob Choir that sang "Country Roads". We are so happy and thrilled to have been part of an iconic event, where everyone's delighted smiles were portrayed genuinely! The event was proof that there is still "good in the world" like Dan Simrell said!
We hope next time more people participate, so we can really make it an unforgettable experience!!
Our Summer Camp was a success! The children enjoyed every moment, from learning about science, art, music, and fitness. Here at the Hazleton One Community Center we already miss the munchkins, so much so that plans for the HIP Summer Camp 2018 is already in the way! Thank you to all of our adult and young volunteers in helping us run a successful Summer Camp program!
Here at the Hazleton One Community Center we pride ourselves in providing great extra-curricular programs to the children of our community. Starting from July children from Kindergarten to 8th grade have been enjoying our Summer Camp programs.
The Summer Camp started with Heroes Week where we had guests representing, Firefighters, State Troopers, and the PA Game Commission who brought a wonderful dog, Sky. The children also enjoyed visits with Emergency Medical Technicians, Nurses, Physical Therapists, the Dog Shelter, and most importantly US Veterans.
HIP Summer Camp continued with Mad Scientists and Inventors week in which children learned about space, gravity, geometry, chemical reactions and other science topics.
