K-3rd grade students in our HIP summer program  on our way to Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville, Pa. On Aug 12 our 4-8th  grade students will be going to Clyde Peeling's Reptiland in Allenwood, PA.

Two student volunteers from the Hazleton One Community Center were among the class of 2020 BEST, Inc. scholarship recipients. Katherine Abreu, a volunteer at the Hazleton One Community Center and a member of the Community that Cares Student Outreach Committee. She will be attending Penn State University in the fall majoring in Psychology. She is a 2016 graduate of Hazleton Areal Career Center.
 
Nick Chupela, has been a member of the HIP After School Scholars junior staff for the past 2 years. He will be attending Wilkes University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Nick is a 2016 graduate of Hazleton 
Area Academy of Sciences.

HIP Science Night

The Hazleton One Community Center had its first Community Science Night on June 9 2012. On Thursday May 18th the Center will have its Second Annual Science Night where students from the After School Scholars in kidergarden through eight grade will showcase science projects that have been completed throught the school year.

Peru Charitable Drive

On April 7 we had the Charitable drive for Peru, in conjunction with the Peruvian Community. We are so thankful with the community for the contributions. We hope the clothes, food, and other items arrived are helpful to the country itself.

Mexican Consulate in HIP!

On Saturday April 8, the Mexican Consulate established itself in our Community Center to provide numerous services to our Mexican residents in the community. The event was such a success that we are already planning the next date, and other nationalities.

Penn State Tutors Visit Hazleton One Community Center Virtual Tutoring Students!

On March 28th Education majors from Penn State University visited the Hazleton One Community Center to work with the After School Scholars in HIP's virtual tutoring program
